IGNORANCE
OF YOUTH

A youth is seated on a pedestal illustrating the rigors of adolescence.
Punishment for wrongdoing, working hard in the fields, no property
of his own and not yet able to contribute to the community as an
adult.
Crowning his thoughts are memories of his mother taking care of
him and his father playing with him. Surrounding him like an empty
shell is the void of transition through which he is unable to see
the promise of his environment and future symbolized by a background
of intricate traditional symbols.
