Sato drums identify a scene of royal celebration among
the Egun people of western Nigeria. The Oba (king) and queen observe
and join in the performance of folk songs and traditional dance. The
dancers in full regalia entertain with classical precision and at the
most unexpected moment leap in unison to strike the drums in perfectly
coordinated punctuation. |
